Wish you a nice weekend!

Why do we love the sea?  It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think.  ~Robert Henri

To the bitter end

The last contribute to my “when the leafs turn” series (Act 1, Act 2). Even if they are really down now, I’m still enjoying them.

In the woods

12 Comments Autumn, Galleries, Landscape

Another shot from the local autumnal forest. I think I could stand this forever. The flavor, the warm autumn light on my face, the silence, the rustle of the leafs when I walk. Ok, I don’t want to be to mawkish…  ;)

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.  ~Elizabeth Lawrence

In the evening

9 Comments Autumn, Galleries, Landscape, Waterscape

This year we are so lucky with the indian summer. Weather is great and as soon as the daily fog lifts, it’s nearly perfect. Today it was 18 degrees. That’s warmer than on some of this years midsummer days. OK, most of the daylight-time I have to spend in my office, but nevertheless, I hope this weather will last a few days longer. Makes me feel very positive and I may save it for the darker days, yet to come.

How beautifully leaves grow old.  How full of light and color are their last days.  ~John Burroughs

Silence at dusk in the fields, with harvested and ploughed soil, ready for the sowing next year.

As mentioned before, the circle is almost complete.

For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad. ~Edwin Way Teale

Fall in our local forest
There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been! ~Percy Bysshe Shelley

Lizard on Driftwood

7 Comments Galleries, Landscape, Waterscape

Another shot of my “sea monster”. In this one, at least I can imagine a lizard on top of the wood. No editing, the trees shape is exactly as I found it.

Most of us, I suppose, are a little nervous of the sea.  No matter what its smiles may be, we doubt its friendship.  ~H.M. Tomlinson Read more
