One day before Christmas

This photo shows the lighthouse “Fluegge” on the isle of Fehmarn in the morning hours of Dec.23, 2008.

An evening in the fields

Autumn Impressions III

More from the woods. Leaves are falling quickly now. Guess the indian summer won’t last long. Was short but nice this year.

Enlightened field at dusk.

Out of this world

Nature and technique, not always a contradiction?

Selective Fall

Slowly but surely there’s no foliage left to photograph. So time to shoot the fallen. ;) Forecast predicts a sunny but cold weekend. Looking forward to do a walk through the forest.

North at easter

We spend some days at the baltic sea again.

Winter Forest

Wish you a happy and healthy new year!

Autumn Evening

Dark hills against a hollow crocus sky
Scarfed with its crimson pennons, and below
The dome of sunset long, hushed valleys lie
Cradling the twilight, where the lone winds blow
And wake among the harps of leafless trees
Fantastic runes and mournful melodies.

The chilly purple air is threaded through
With silver from the rising moon afar,
And from a gulf of clear, unfathomed blue
In the southwest glimmers a great gold star
Above the darkening druid glens of fir
Where beckoning boughs and elfin voices stir.

And so I wander through the shadows still,
And look and listen with a rapt delight,
Pausing again and yet again at will
To drink the elusive beauty of the night,
Until my soul is filled, as some deep cup,
That with divine enchantment is brimmed up.

By the sea, in b&w

Some b&w images from the baltic coast

Listen to a short track I’ve composed for these images, if you like:

Leafy Bower

In the fields in the morning.

Leafy Spot

Minor Earth, Major Sky

Sunday Morning

In the darkness
Before the dawn
In the swirling
Of the storm
When I’m rolling with the punches
And hope is gone
Leave a light, a light on

Stormy Evening

Early in the woods

Early in the woods

How still it is here in the woods. The trees
Stand motionless, as if they do not dare
To stir, lest it should break the spell. The air
Hangs quiet as spaces in a marble frieze.
Even this little brook, that runs at ease,
Whispering and gurgling in its knotted bed,
Seems but to deepen with its curling thread
Of sound the shadowy sun-pierced silences.

Sometimes a hawk screams or a woodpecker
Startles the stillness from its fixèd mood
With his loud careless tap. Sometimes I hear
The dreamy white-throat from some far-off tree
Pipe slowly on the listening solitude
His five pure notes succeeding pensively.
