Baltic Autumn

Just arrived back home from a nice week at the coast. It was big fun as always: very good food, long walks on empty beaches and all aspects of weather conditions. From horizontal rain, storm at 8 beaufort to blue skies and vice versa, all in just 20 minutes ;-).

Harvesting Season

Time to harvest the fields, again. And as every year around this time, I remember that I’ve planned to make a four seasons shooting on one single location since ages. Well, one must always have some plans in the photo bag ;-).

Balloon ride

Balloons are very common in summer at my place. This one was already flying fairly low and landed on a field nearby.

The balloon seems to stand still in the air while the earth flies past underneath.

In the garden, easy-going

Nice weather and upcoming weekend, two things which make me happy ;-). A walk in my garden, just to check if the camera is still functional :-(.

My favorite place is our beach chair, though if it’s above 20 degrees and no wind, it’s getting very warm in there. But it’s perfect in autumn and spring. A book and a cup of coffee is all I need.

Bending

Modern architecture in Bonn. Art and exhibition hall of the Federal Republic of Germany. Been there for the “PIXAR – 25 Years of Animation” exhibition. Very interesting to learn something about the making of a modern animation movie. Yet the concept art at the beginning of the whole process is amazing and the drawings are wonderful.

Storm

Just minutes before a thunderstorm arrives.

Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is lightning that does the work.

Yellow Fields

In the canola fields again. Anyone who calls me a tree hugger? You’re right! ;-)

If you’re not a tree hugger, then you’re a what, a tree hater?

Colors of the dusk

Clouds in the evening sun, I never can get enough of them.

Backlight

Back- and sidelight in the fields

Voices heard in fields of green
Their joy their calm and luxury
Are lost within the wanderings of my mind

Im cutting branches from the trees
Shaped by years of memories
To exorcise their ghosts from inside of me
The sound of waves in a pool of water

Im drowning in my nostalgia

At the end of the work day

And even though the moment just passed me by, I still can’t turn away.

Stages in life

Lilly and Clematis in different stages of their life.

In the season of white wild roses
We two went hand in hand
But now in the ruddy autumn
Together already we stand.

O pale pearl-necklace that wandered
O’er the white-thorn’s tangled head!
The white-thorn is turned to russet
The pearls to purple and red!

On the topmost orchard branches
It then was crimson and snow
Where now the gold-red apples
Burn on the turf below.

And between the trees the children
In and out run hand in hand
And, with smiles that answer their smiling
We two together stand.

Silhouette

I love these warm summer evenings in the field. No sounds disturbing the atmosphere, even the shutter click seems to be a bit annoying ;). Wish you a nice Whitsun weekend.

Daisies

Seen on a meadow today.
